The Jones Funeral Homes in Dixon and Amboy, Illinois have a long history of service dating back to 1897, when the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon was established by Royal and Celia Jones. During the past 111 years family members, including J. Willard and Elizabeth Jones and Patrick R. Jones Sr. and Patrick R. Jones Jr. have operated the business.

In 1972 the Jones Funeral Home expanded when the Mihm Funeral Home in Amboy was purchased and since then that funeral home has operated as the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home.

In the 1930’s the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon moved to its present and fourth location, the historic J.W. McAlpine home at the corner of Second and Ottawa Ave. The very familiar clock in the front yard has provided those traveling east on Second St. and beyond with the correct time for many years.

As with most businesses, the Jones Funeral Homes have witnessed many changes over the past one hundred plus years. Whether it is Traditional or Cremation Services, Prearrangement and/or Prefinancing needs the staff at the Jones Funeral Home is more than prepared to accommodate our communities with the latest in services and merchandise as well as the care and compassion that our families have come to expect. We have served families for over 111 years and plan to do so for many years to come.
