Susan Louise Mills

November 16, 1958 - January 14, 2018

Susan L Mills age 59 of Dixon died unexpectedly Sunday Jan. 14, 2018 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She was born Nov. 16, 1958 in Dixon the daughter of Ralph and Celia (Giese) Mills. Sue was a dedicated employee at Sinnissippi Health Centers and part owner of the Paper Escape in Dixon. She was a registered member of the Girl Scouts for 50 years earning the designation of being a Lifetime Member along with receiving Girl Scouts highest honors the Thanks Badge and the Thanks Badge II. Sue was a member of St Anne Catholic Church where she had served as an usher for many years. She deeply loved her nieces and nephews and her parents who she helped care for in their final time so they could live out their lives at home. For all the people she loved and anyone she met that needed help she would give selflessly. She was an avid reader and shared that love with all the children in her life. Sue is survived by one sister Katherine Kerchner and one brother Ralph (Anne) Mills both of Dixon, nieces and nephews, Lauren Mills, Jared Mills, Emily Mills, and Cassey Kerchner all of Dixon and Sgt. Kyle Kerchner US Army currently deployed. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law Curt Kerchner. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday January 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St Anne Catholic Church in Dixon with the Rev. Thomas Doyle officiating. Burial of Cremains will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Church. Memorials have been established to Girls Scouts Scholarship Fund and St Anne School.
