Shirley Adelaide Bradley

January 10, 1936 - February 22, 2018

Shirley A. Bradley, age 82, of Dixon, and formerly of Oregon, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, at the home of her daughter in Dixon.  She was born Jan. 10, 1936 in Comstock Park, Michigan, the daughter of John and Karolina (Fueterer) Trampel. Shirley was a Telephone Operator for many years in Oregon. She attended United First Church in Amboy. Shirley was a caretaker of all and was affectionately known as the family “Angel" for her kind demeanor and many acts of selfless compassion. She enjoyed creating special works of art and crafts for and with her children and grandchildren; from a wooden rocking horse to watercolors, to personalized dolls. Hallmarks of Shirley’s life were her relationship with God, her devotion to her husband and unconditional love for her family. She married Victor Bradley Aug. 6, 1958, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon.  He preceded her in death July 29, 2013.  She was also preceded in death by one grandson Ethan Bradley, one sister Joy Long and one brother George Trampel. Shirley is survived by her children Kelly Cardot of Freeport, Julie (Mark) Glenn of Dixon, David (Rebecca) Bradley of Roy, WA; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers John (Arlene) Trampel of Hurst, TX, Robert Trampel of Oregon, David (Jan) Trampel of the Villages, FL; two sisters Gerda (Robert) Davis of Warren, AR, and Rosa Donaldson of Freeport, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 3, 2018, from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the United First Church of Amboy. The funeral service will follow after the visitation at 11:00 a.m., the Rev. Mark Glenn officiating.  A luncheon will be served at the church following the funeral. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Lighthouse Cemetery in Oregon.  Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Memorial contributions may be made to the United First Church of Amboy.
