Patricia Ann Schrauth

May 24, 1929 - August 3, 2018

Patricia A. Schrauth, 89, of Dixon died Friday, August 3, 2018 at Avonlea Cottage of Dixon. Patricia A. Long was born May 24, 1929 in Joliet, the daughter of John and May (Doherty) Long. Pat married Michael Schrauth on June 12, 1954 in Joliet. Mike preceded her in death May 5, 2013. Pat was a beloved school teacher, having taught students in Minooka, McKinley Park, St. Mary's in Dixon, and for 20 years at St. Anne Catholic School in Dixon. Pat served as the St. Anne School representative on the Newman Central Catholic High School Board for many years. Pat was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon where she was an RCIA instructor for many years. She was an active member of the parish and served in leadership positions on many committees and women's groups. Pat is survived by a son, John "Jack" (Shelly) Schrauth of Dixon; a daughter, Kati (Steve) Heysinger of Clinton, IA; 5 grandchildren: Kathryn (Adam) Bohlen of Decatur; Laura Schrauth and Jennifer Schrauth, both of Dixon; Christopher (Danni) Mullen and Gregory Heysinger, both of Clinton, IA; and 4 great-grandsons: Aaron, Caleb, Elijah, and Benjamin Bohlen, all of Decatur; and many nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary Monica Will, and one niece. The family would like to thank the staffs of Avonlea Cottage and Serenity Hospice for their wonderful care of Pat. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, beginning with a 10:00 AM prayer service at the Jones Funeral Home followed by a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon with the Rev. Keith Romke officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:0PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM at Jones. Memorials have been established to St. Anne Catholic School in Dixon for a new drinking fountain in Pat's honor, and to the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Clinton, IA.
