Edward Joseph Bybee Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Edward Joseph "Joe" Bybee age 77 died Saturday July 16, 2022 in Keizer, Oregon. He was born Sept. 27, 1944 in Amboy, IL the son of Raymond and Katherine (Friel) Bybee. Joe attended Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling, IL and was a member of the Class of 1962. He did his undergraduate studies at Benedictine College in Kansas and then graduated from law school at the University of Kansas. Joe was an attorney in Honolulu and Kailua Hawaii for many years and retired as a partner in the law firm of Bybee, Chang and Rulon. He was also a member of the Hawaii State House of Representatives from 1988 to 1990. Joe was a member of the American Bar Assoc., the Hawaii Bar Assoc., the Illinois Bar Assoc. and the American Trial Lawyers Assoc. After retirement he summered in Oregon and wintered in Palm Springs, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joe is survived by his wife Trish, three children Michael (Tesa), Sean (Kourtney) and Suzanne; 5 grandchildren; two sisters Faye (Arnie) Scudder of Sterling and Kathy (Rich) Adams of Amboy; one brother Doug (Becky) Bybee of Springfield, IL and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services and burial of cremains will be Saturday Aug. 27, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
