Curtis Alan Holland

October 23, 1943 - March 29, 2022

Curtis Alan Holland age 78 of Dixon. On March 29, 2022 Curtis passed away comfortably and peacefully following a short illness. He was surrounded by family at Serenity Hospice and Home. Curtis was born in 1943, in Dixon, the son of George and Mabel (Belcher) Holland. Curtis was employed at Dixon Public Schools as a middle school teacher until his retirement in 1997. He took pride in coaching football, basketball, volleyball and track at the junior high and high school level. During his retirement he enjoyed playing golf and cards with his buddies at the Club. Curt and his wife Carol enjoyed traveling to sunny and warm areas and spending time with family and friends at their Wisconsin home on Little Silver Lake. Curt also loved to go gambling, spent many hours watching sports and Netflix and giving his home health care workers a hard time, which was a particular favorite pastime over the last few years. He also wanted everyone to know that he was allergic to 2 things: cold and pain. Curt always made sure to call family and friends every year to sing Happy Birthday. Curtis was preceded in death by his wife Carol, father, mother, and two brothers George Kirby Holland and Craig Holland. He is survived by two daughters, Christie Houck (Troy Spangler) of Dixon and Jennifer Andre of Arlington Heights. Along with 5 grandchildren, Hailey Houck (Matt Coffey) of Dixon, and Hillary (Jeremy) VanBuren of Scottsdale AZ and Abby, Kiley and Brooke Andre of Arlington Heights. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4th from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. A memorial has been established to the City of Dixon Police Department and Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon Illinois.
