Rosemary V Wasilewski

Rosemary Virginia Wasilewski, 80, of Dixon, went home to the Lord peacefully on March 28, 2025. She was born on December 20, 1944, in Williston, ND, to Marie Anne (Lyonais) and John William Lynch. She was the seventeenth of eighteen children that John and Marie had together. Rosemary grew up in rural western North Dakota and was very proud of her upbringing there. As a young girl she attended a one room school house that was named after her family. She would visit North Dakota whenever possible and truly enjoyed spending time with her family there. On January 25, 1964, she married her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, James Paul Wasilewski. Together they raised five children in Dixon and were the proud grandparents of eighteen grandchildren and the great grandparents of three. Rosemary had two great loves in her life, her faith and her family. She was a lifelong practicing Catholic who always put God first and passed her love of Him to her children, grandchildren and all those she encountered. She spent countless hours in prayer, whether that was in a church or chapel or simply at home. She deeply loved her family of origin and the family that she made with Jim. Some of her happiest moments were those spent with family, especially at get-togethers and holidays. She had an incredible ability to make large meals that everyone loved, no matter how picky they were. She wanted everyone to feel loved and accepted and would go out of her way to ensure that everyone had what they needed or wanted. She was the epitome of selflessness. Her life was always focused on caring for others, whether that meant her husband and family, her beloved beagles Ruby and Rex, or the many people she cared for as a CNA at Heritage Square for several years. Her loving nature made everyone she cared for feel important and special. Rosemary especially loved caring for babies and children and absolutely cherished the gift of being a mother and grandmother. While she enjoyed many pursuits like watching the Chicago Cubs, gardening, walking, fishing, and playing cards, her focus was always on her children and their families. She was a Mom first and foremost with everything else being set aside if her children or grandchildren needed anything. She loved seeing other people happy. Rosemary was predeceased by her parents, Marie and John Lynch and her siblings Patrick, Irene, Alma, Louise, Wilma, Victor, Margaret, Leonard, Anna, Floyd, Jeanette and Archie, as well as one grandson, Peter Binkley. She is survived by her husband, James, her brothers, Charles, Eugene, and Robert Lynch, her sisters, Delores Hackenberg and Eva Carlson, her children Carleen (James Seiner) Lynch, Jill (David) Hill, Joan (Bruce) Williams, Ken, and Don (Racheal) Wasilewski. As well as her grandchildren, Jessica Baker-Eisele, Luke Eisele, James Eisele, Joelle (Carson) Barber, Erik (Samantha) Hill, Cody (Hillary) Hill, Rachel Hill, Nicole Hill, Alex Binkley, Katie (David) Whitcome, Gabrielle Williams, Kimberly Binkley, Elijah Williams, Jonah Williams, Monica Williams, Landon Wasilewski, Jordyn Ritter, Caleb Ritter, and great grandchildren Liam Prey, Paxton Miller, Dorothy Rose Hill and soon to be born, Owen Hill. A visitation will be held from 6:00PM-8:00PM on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon (204 S Ottawa Ave, Dixon, IL 61021) with a rosary being prayed at 7:45PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 3rd with a visitation at 10:00AM at St. Anne’s Catholic Church (1104 N. Brinton Ave, Dixon, IL 61021), followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00AM. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens upon the conclusion of Mass. The family would like to especially thank the incredible caregivers at Allure in Mt. Morris for their exceptional care, love and support of Rosemary and the family while she was with them, and the help and comfort provided by Serenity Hospice in Oregon. The family asks in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Anne School in Dixon or Serenity Hospice in Oregon.
