Norbert Brachle

Norbert Brachle age 88 of Amboy died on Friday Oct. 28, 2022 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. He was born on March 16, 1934 in Mendota, IL the son of Leo and Naomi (Phillips) Brachle. He had two very special marriages to Sharon Stevens and Barb Goy. Norb worked for ED Etnyre for ten years, was a Corn Cob hauler from a very young age, selling to Quaker Oats and others. He also went into the salvage, truck rebuilding and repair business, and also had several restaurants and bars with his wife Sharon and daughter Ronda. Norb was a member of the Dixon Elks Club, and also donated cars to the Amboy Fire Dept. for their extraction school. He was a dedicated friend to the City of Amboy. He loved playing Bingo, going to casinos, playing Keno, trips to Vegas, horse racing, and was an avid hot rod tractor puller. He also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and attending their activities. Norb had a generous spirit, giving nature, and will be missed by many. Norb is preceded in death by his parents and grand daughter Amanda Dawn Justice. He is survived by his children Gwenda (Daniel) Justice Sr. of Dixon, Ronda (Dennis Dempsey) Hicks of Amboy, Sharri (Craig) Miller of Dixon, 7 grandchildren, Daniel (Leia) Justice Jr., Bethany (Nathan) Wright, Tabatha (Eric) Behrens, Jennifer (Bob) Maves, Janda (Anthony) Hicks, Courtney (Bud) Helfrich, Hannah Miller and 13 great grandchildren. Norb is also survived by two brothers Franklin (Gerry) Green of Earlville, Craig (Christy) Green of Sterling, special friends and care givers Katie Dickinson, Jamie Zimmerly. At Norbs request his body has been donated to scientific research and study. A memorial service will be held on Sunday Nov. 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with Deacon Kevin Prunty officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday Nov. 6, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. The family invites everyone to join them at the Dixon Elks Lodge for a "Hauling Cobs to Heaven" luncheon immediately following the service. Memorial donations can be made to the Dixon Elks Lodge or Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.
