Loyola Koehler

Loyola M Koehler age 95 of Dixon died Saturday Dec. 11, 2010 at Heritage Square Health Center in Dixon. She was born April 12, 1915 in Marion Twp. Lee County the daughter of Theodore and Marea (McKune) Fitzpatrick. She had been a bookkeeper at Lawtons Dairy, Blackhawk Photomount, Kleins Dept. Store and Dixon Co-Op prior to her retirement. Loyola was a devout, compassionate, loving faith-filled woman who quietly gave endless hours of service to St. Patrick's and St. Flannen's Catholic Churches and to her community. At St. Patrick's she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Loyola also served on the Ministry of Compassion visiting and bringing the Holy Eucharist to those in the hospital, nursing home, and to the shut-ins. She was an active participant in the Catholic Women's Club. Loyola was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed the strategies involved in winning a good hand. She was a resident of Heritage Square for 9 years. Prior to becoming a resident of Heritage Square she was a volunteer there. Loyola epitomized the goodness and virtue found in a true Christian woman. Loyola truly lived her faith each and every day. She married Albert G Koehler April 13, 1940 at St. Flannen Catholic Church in Harmon. He preceded her in death May 6, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a son David Koehler and sisters Mildred Bauer and Regina Jensen. She is survived by a son Robert (Sandra) Koehler of Grayslake, IL , daughter Kathleen (Frank) Manderscheid of Naperville, daughter in law Donna Koehler of Ypsilanti, MI, 8 grand children Theodore, Kurt, Krista Koehler, Michael, Christina and William Koehler, Sarah (Chris) Irwin and Jeffrey Manderscheid, 2 great grand children Aidan and Hayley Irwin. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Dec. 15, 2010 beginning with a 10:00 AM prayer services in the Jones Funeral Home followed by a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. James Keenan pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be onTuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home with the Rosary at 7:30 PM A memorial has been established to Heritage Square
