Frances J. Robison

Frances J. "Jackie" Robison, age 83, of Grand Detour, died Monday, July 3, 2017, in her home. She was born January 7, 1934, in Whitmire, SC, the daughter of Gordon and Willie Faye (Roby) Brooks. She was a devoted wife and mother, and there was nothing too difficult for her to accomplish. She worked at Lawrence Brothers for several years and attended night school to further her career. Upon completion, she went to work for Sterling High School where she retired running the audio visual department in the library. While she worked full time, she took classes, managed a household, raised 4 children, and still found time to pursue her passion for arts and crafts - designing floral arrangements that were displayed and sold in local hospital gift shops. She was also a talented painter and enjoyed reading and writing poetry. Jackie was truly the original "Super Mom". She enjoyed singing "You are my Sunshine" with her family. Jackie married Keith R. "Robbie" Robison in Roswell, NM, October 24, 1952. He preceded her in death October 19, 2014. She was also preceded in death by 3 grandchildren Jasmine Quarles, Matthew Smith, and Nigel Robison. Survivors include 3 daughters Kathy Quarles and Rhonda Wright both of Sacramento, CA, and Bonny Castellari of Grand Detour; one son Joe Robison of Grand Detour, seven grandchildren, Jaquelinn Wright and Justin (Haja) Quarles both of Sacramento, CA, Jeremy (Kelly) Quarles of Lowell, Arkansas, Michael Smith of Sacramento, CA, Marcus Smith of Sacramento, Haley Castellari of Chesterfield, MO, Abe (Kori) Petroshyn of Millstadt, IL, 7 great grandchildren Violet, Ivy, Michele and Aubrey Quarles, and Ayla, Alyvia, and Ansley Petroshyn; 2 brothers Robert (Nancy) Brooks of Columbia, SC, and John (Judy) Brooks of Spartanburg, SC; 1 sister Anita (Brad) Hennessy of Denver, CO; several nieces and nephews. Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held on Saturday July 15, 2017, 10:00 AM at Grand Detour Cemetery, with the Pastor Jack Briggs officiating. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association of Dixon. Special thanks to Serenity Hospice for their care of Jackie.
