DeLores M. Doden

Dolores M. Doden, age 86, gained her wings and joined her beloved family on Saturday October 29,2022. Dolores Mae Noble was born in Amboy, Illinois, on April 14, 1936, the daughter of Floyd W. Noble Sr. and Marjorie Violetta Clayton. Delores was an artist and won many awards for her artwork while in school. She graduated from Amboy High School in 1954 and married her high school sweetheart, Frankie Leroy Michael Haley, on August 14, 1954. During their marriage Frankie and “Dee” were in a band called the Mel-O-Dees where she sang and played the guitar. They were the parents of four children. After Frank’s death in 1974 Dee went to work as a legal secretary for a Dixon engineering firm. On February 25, 1977, Delores married Robert Doden, owner of Doden Silos in Mendota, Illinois, where they made their home until Bob’s death in 1996. Due to complications from diabetics Dee entered the Mendota Lutheran Home in 2009 and remained there until they closed, and she moved to the Franklin Grove Nursing Home where her smiles and hugs made her one of the favorites. Delores was predeceased by her parents, her son Frank Leroy Haley Jr, on October 29,2017, her daughter, Janeece “Jan” Marie Schaefer, in 2015, her daughter Suzanne “Sue” Lynn Ohlendorf, in 2018 and her son David “Dave” Allan Haley, in 2019. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy (Ernest) Jeanblanc, brother, Keith (Dorothy) Noble, Donald, (Jeannie) Noble, James (Beverly) Noble, Floyd Noble Jr. Richard (Dorothy) Noble. She is survived by her daughter- in- law, JoAnn Haley, of Durand, Illinois, son-in-law, Kerry Schaefer, of Roanoke, Indiana, and Jeffrey Ohlendorf, of Amboy Illinois, Step-daughters, Debra (Michael) Wise and Barbara Diederich, step-brothers Charles (Charity) Noble of Atlanta, Georgia, and Brian Noble of Las Vegas, Nevada, grandchildren, Jeremy Haley, Denver, Colorado, Matthew (Serah Elizabeth) Haley, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Curtis (Sonia) Haley, of Newark, Illinois, Daniel (Charity) of Freeport, Florida, Nicholas ( Andrea) Schaefer of Mendota, Illinois, Thomas (Sara Beth) Schaefer, Mendota, Illinois, Alicia (Brian) Robbins, of LaSalle, Illinois, Robert (Carolyn) Ohlendorf, Anthony (Molly) Ohlendorf, both of Mendota, Illinois, Rachel Zissler, of Pecatonica, Illinois, Kyle Zissler, of Durand, Illinois, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Sisters-in-law Kaye Noble of Mascot, Tennessee, and Darlene Hinkle of Shorewood, Illinois, many nieces and nephews and a host of loyal friends. The funeral services will be on Friday Nov. 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be on Friday Nov. 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM to the time of the service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.
