David J. Blaine

David J. Blaine, 85, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon, IL after a short illness. David was born on August 26, 1940, in Amboy, Illinois and is the son of Lester and Catherine Blaine. David married Judith (Heller) Blaine on July 10, 1965 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Maytown, IL. Together, they have two children, daughter, Debbie Sinagoga of Scottsdale, Arizona and son, Mike (Janel) Blaine of Appleton, WI. He is the proud Papa of two grandsons, Jason Blaine and Aaron Blaine. David was employed at the local phone company for 39 years. He served on The Dixon Park District Board, was a member of The Dixon Evening Lions Club, a lifetime member of the Dixon Elks Lodge #779, Coach and Board Member of the Al Morrison Baseball League, and volunteer at The Leydig Center in Dixon. David grew up on a farm in Ohio, Il, and raised Yorkshire Show Hogs. He won grand champion of the Yorkshire Hog Show at the Illinois State Fair. David was recognized as one of two national swine champions of the Swine Project in 1961 for Club Congress in 4H. He also served proudly as an East Grove Cub 4H Leader. David loved his family. His proudest moments were coaching Al Morrison baseball teams for 8 years and YBA Basketball teams. David enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren in their sporting events and school activities over the years. He was an avid golfer and bowler and loved sudoku and crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed traveling and visiting his children and grandchildren. David is survived by his wife, Judy (Heller) Blaine; daughter Debbie Sinagoga; son Mike Blaine; daughter-in-law Janel (O’Malley) Blaine; two grandchildren, Jason Blaine and Aaron Blaine; sister Dianne Pugh; and brother Duane Blaine. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Catherine Blaine; his brother, Doug Blaine; and son-in-law, Richard (Debbie) Sinagoga. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 4-7pm, at The Jones Funeral Home in Dixon, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11am at The Jones Funeral Home in Dixon, IL. Burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Luncheon to follow at the Dixon Elks Lodge.
