Barbara Joan Goy

Barbara Joan Goy, of Amboy died on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Barb was one of 13 children born on February 24, 1939 to William and Aileen (Brady) Morrissey. Barb was a graduate of Amboy High School. She married LeRoy George Goy on April 18th, 1958. She was a lifelong active member of St. Patrick's Parish, Amboy and the St. Patrick's Women's Organization. Barb was a loving and selfless mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved spending time with her family and her Catholic faith was the center of her life. Barb spent countless hours cooking and praying for those in need. Barb was preceded in death by her late husband LeRoy; her son Brian; her parents William and Aileen; four brothers, Robert Morrissey (in infancy), John (Tiny) Morrissey, Rev. William (Buddy) Morrissey, Joseph Morrissey; two sisters, Rosemary Hawks and Bette Wilhelm; 8 brothers in law, George Hawks, Louie Wilhelm, Alvin Glenn, Gene Carroll, Lloyd Considine, Jack Scorby, Doug Koch, Gilbert (Mary) Goy; two sister in laws, Loleta (Doug) Mathesius and June (Robert) Stephenitch; and two nephews, Jay Hawks and Timothy Considine. She is survived by her five children, Julia (Paul) DeArmitt of Amboy; Renee (Mark) Kaleel of Amboy; Bradley (Lisa) Goy of Amboy; Amy (Greg) Liebing of Amboy and Angela (Curtis) Ely of Sublette; 14 Grandchildren, Ashley and Brian DeArmitt, Nicklaus (Lindsey) Kaleel, Taylor (Britainy) Kaleel, Levi Kaleel, Kiara (Garrett) Zinke, Drew and Dillon Goy, Lauren (Phillip) Bond, Hillary, Garrett and Kaitlyn Liebing, Nicolle Ely, Christopher (Kristen) Ely. 5 Great-grandchildren, Kaiya and Eli Kaleel, Kain and Quinn Kaleel, Griffin Bond; sisters, Rita Glenn, Frances Carroll, Lois Considine, Monica Scorby, and Colleen Koch; brother, Larry (Carol Vogelsang) Morrissey; sister in laws, Josephine Morrissey, Corrine Morrissey, and Linda Morrissey, along with 46 beloved nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018, at 11:00 AM in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, with the Rev. Timothy Draper, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, from 2:00 until 8:00 PM with the Rosary recited at 7:30 PM at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy, and also on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service in the church. Pall bearers are Brian DeArmitt, Nicklaus, Taylor, and Levi Kaleel, Drew and Dillon Goy, Garrett Liebing, and Christopher Ely. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. Vincent DePaul Society and St. Patrick's Food Pantry and Teen Turf of Amboy.
