Anne Lahey

Anne Lahey, 89, of Dixon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her home. Born on March 28, 1935, she was the daughter of Paul and Agnes (Fane) Reilly. Anne graduated from St. Ambrose College with a degree in nursing. She dedicated her career to the OB department at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital, where she found immense joy in assisting mothers in welcoming their newborns into the world. With a touch of humor, she often suggested "Anne" as a name for those struggling to choose, resulting in countless "little Annes" gracing the earth. Retiring after a fulfilling 40-year career, she left behind a lasting legacy and significant impact on countless families. A lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, Anne's unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of the Catholic Women's Club and cherished her lifelong friendships with the "SMPCBAB" group, a circle of dear friends formed during their school days at St. Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters: Evelyn Herwig, Margaret Dieterle, Pauline Hammond, and Rosemary Devine; and one brother, Robert Reilly. Anne is survived by her children: David (Tammy) Lahey, Phil (Dee) Lahey, Michael (Danielle) Lahey, Maureen (Martin) Eccles, and Colleen Lahey, all of Dixon; her twelve grandchildren: Staci (Brad) Kleinmaier, Leanne (August) Tang, Greg (Camila) Lahey, Cody (Samantha) Lahey, Matt (Serena) Lahey, Kelley (Kade) Connell, Shannon (Drew Petzold) Lahey, Sean Lahey, Shea Lahey, Ryan (Kalli) Eccles, MaryKate Eccles, and Kyle Lahey; and fourteen great-grandchildren. As the last of her immediate Reilly family, Anne cherished her role as a beloved matriarch to her nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Reverend John Evans officiating. Cremation rites will follow the Mass, with burial of cremains at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon at a later date. A memorial has been established to St. Mary Grade School in Dixon.
