Mary Helen Frey

Mary H. Frey, age 88, of Dixon, died peacefully September 16, 2016, surrounded by her children. She was born July 29, 1928, in Dixon, the daughter of George and Julia (Sarvus) Muntean. She married Jean L. (Bud) Frey in 1947. Together they had 6 children: Mary Lynn, John, David, Randy, Laura, and Ronnie. Mary attended Dixon schools and worked different jobs all of her life, starting with A&P Grocery Store, and retiring from Raynor Garage Doors. She loved being with all of her grandkids. Mary loved to bake and her pies were legendary. She loved taking walks up her lane, bonfires, her music, and watching old movies. She was always smiling. Mary was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, and the Catholic Womens Club. She was preceded in death by her husband December 2, 1999; 3 sons John, David, and Randy Frey; 2 grandchildren Jesse and Lee Allen Frey; 2 sisters Gladys Gabany and Julia Healy; 2 brothers Georgie Muntean and Louie Gabany. Survivors include her three children Mary Lynn (James) Davison, Laura (Jim) Schrock, and Ronnie (Peg) Frey, all of Dixon; 14 grandchildren Jeni (Monty) Smith, D.J. Emmert, Ryan (Jenny) Lavelle, Anna Davison, Tonya Davison Shaw, Seth (Jamie) Frey, Chance Frey, Erin (Matt) Herpstreith, Matt Schrock, Megan Schrock, Aaron (Julie) Grimes, Eric (Jasmyn) Grimes, and Shane (Heather) Grimes; 15 great-grandchildren Vince Smith, Spenser (Nolan Yocum) Smith, Mackenzie Shaw, Emery and Julian Lavelle, Vivienne Frey, Caleb and Austin Herpstreith, Mariah, Addie, Emma, Justis, Noah, Emily, and Liam Grimes; 1 great-great granddaughter Nora Ashlyn Yocum; many nieces and nephews. May the angels watch over you until we are all together again. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at 10:00 AM in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon with the Rev. Bernard Sehr, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 8:30 AM until 9:45 AM in the church.
