Lorene Anita Reuter

Lorene Reuter age 77 of Dixon died Saturday Jan. 14, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 14, 1939 in Hudson, WI the daughter of Ralph and Ione (Johnson) Klausen. She lived in Minnesota until 1979 where she was an owner/operator of Kabetogama Resort on Lake Kabetogama, MN. There wasn't anything she wouldn't try to do or fix on her own. She loved meeting new people from all around the United State and the World. When she moved to Illinois in 1979 she married Ambrose Reuter May 14, 1980. She worked at the Lee County Circuit Clerks office and retired from there in 1996. Lorene was involved with the Lee County Republican Women, the Lady Elk's Auxiliary, Dixon Sister Cities, the Buick Car Club and enjoyed traveling with her husband Ambrose to the various Townships of Illinois Risk Management Association meetings. Her happy places were working in her large yard and nurturing her numerous flower beds and attending any sporting event that her various grandchildren participated in. She was such a loving and kind person. Lorene is survived by her children Daniel (Julie) Carlson of Hudson, WI, Donald (Noreen) Carlson of Pleasant Hill, IA, Becky (Lenny Bryson) Patterson of Polo; step-children Ambrose Reuter Jr., of California, Randall (Cindy) Reuter of Oregon, Jeffrey Reuter of Dixon, Lisa (Paul) Grobe of Sterling; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Donovan (Karen) Klausen of Burnsville, MN, Connie Diamond of Pine City, MN, and Terry (Julie) Klausen of San Diego, CA and last but not least, her four legged companion, Lincoln. She was also preceded in death by her husband Ambrose Dec. 23, 2016, her son Michael, grandson Cole, brother Loren and step sons Phillip, Richard and Dennis. Funeral services will be held on Wed. Jan. 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church in Polo with the Rev. Terrie Wilder officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded and private burial of cremains will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon.
