The Jones Funeral Homes in both Dixon and Amboy have a long history stretching back to l897 when the Jones Funeral Homes in Dixon was established by Royal and Celia Jones. During the 106 years since then family members including J. Willard and Elizabeth Jones and present day owners Patrick R. Jones Sr. and Patrick R. Jones Jr. have operated the business. In l972 the business expanded when the Mihm Funeral Home in Amboy was purchased and operated since that time as the Mihm-Jones Funeral Homes. In the l930’s the Jones Funeral Homes, Dixon moved to its present location in the historic J.W. McAlpine Home at the corner of Ottawa Ave. and Second St where the clock in the front yard provides those traveling East Second St. and beyond with the correct time of day or night.

The Jones Funeral Homes provides a complete line of funeral and memorial services and merchandise. As in most areas of business and service there have been many changes over the past one hundred years. Whether traditional services, cremation services, or prearrangement and prefinancing are requested our staff is more than ready to accommodate the needs of clients of all denominations and customs.

We have served area families for over one hundred years and plan to do so for many years to come.
